§ 6-181. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Distilled spirits, malt beverage, beer, wine shall be synonymous and will be intended to mean any alcoholic beverage for the purposes of sections 6-184 through 6-186, 6-189, 6-191 and 6-221 through 6-232.

    License means the authorization by the council to engage in the sale of distilled spirits for consumption on the premises.

    Licensee for the sale of distilled spirits by the drink on the premises means any person duly licensed to sell by the drink and for consumption only on the premises.

    Premises means the definite closed or partitioned in locality, whether a room, shop or building, wherein distilled spirits shall be sold and consumed.

    Wholesaler, wholesale distributor means any person engaged in distribution or selling to licensees for the sale of spirituous liquors by the drink on the premises.
