§ 6-233. One-day special events license and fees.

  • (a)

    Applicants who are desirous of conducting a one-day event within the corporate limits of the city must first make application to the license department.

    (b)

    Applicant must allow 30 days for processing.

    (c)

    Applications are categorized by non-profit and for-profit.

    (d)

    Qualified non-profit organizations must submit a current 501c(3) letter from the Internal Revenue Service.

    (e)

    No more than six one-day special events licenses may be held by a non-profit organization in any one calendar year at the established fees. If the non-profit applicant desires a seventh event in any one calendar year, the established for-profit fee schedule will apply.

    (g)

    One-day special events licenses which are approved and granted shall comply and conform with all other existing requirements set forth by the current zoning ordinances and Code of Ordinances.

    (h)

    Third party vendors including but not limited to catering companies, whether selling alcoholic beverages directly or indirectly, must obtain the proper alcohol license and comply with all local, state and federal regulations regarding the purchase of alcohol from suppliers.

    (i)

    No one-day special events license will be approved by the governing authority unless it bears written approval of the office of the chief of police, office of the chief of the fire department, office of the city marshal, office of planning and zoning, office of the licensing division of the finance department, and the city manager of the city.

    (j)

    Applicants for a one-day special events license who will serve or sell alcoholic beverages must:

    (1)

    Comply with the requirements, including, but not limited to finger-printing and a background check conducted by the city police department.

    (2)

    Comply with all local, state and federal laws and regulations relating to the sale of alcoholic beverages with the person named on the application being held solely responsible for all compliance.

    (3)

    Provide evidence of current liability insurance coverage.

    (4)

    Submit written permission from the property owner detailing date, time and specifics of the event.

    (5)

    Provide any other material requested by any city personnel.

    (k)

    Evidence of licensure shall be posted and remain posted at the site during the event.

    (l)
