§ 90-8. Rates; fees; charges.

  • (a)

    A schedule of charges for sewer services, water services, water and sewer tapping and connection fees and other related fees and deposits shall be published separately from this chapter.

    (b)

    All persons desiring to tap-on and connect to the water system of the city shall be charged an in-city tap-on fee within the city limits and an out-of-city tap-on fee without the city, as a tap-on service charge for each meter installed.

    (c)

    All new residential water customers, all residential customers whose water has been turned off due to nonpayment and all present water customers applying for water at a new location shall be required to pay a general water deposit. All commercial customers shall be required to pay a commercial water deposit. Such deposits shall be held by the city and applied to the final bill in the case of default of payment and the balance, if any, shall be delivered to the customer, or refunded in the case of voluntary discontinuance.

    (d)

    Each customer shall be billed monthly and the bill shall show the aggregate amount due by the customer for water consumed and sewage service. All customers are required to make payment of no less than one month's service within 15 calendar days after rendition of the bill. If any customer has not paid the full and the complete amount of the outstanding bill within that 15-calendar day period, a late fee will be charged. Any customer who shall not pay for the above mentioned services within an additional ten calendar days shall be subject to discontinuance of water and sewage services. Those customers whose service is subject to being disconnected shall be required to pay the full amount due, all late charges and a fee for processing a reconnection work order. Any customer who is two month's past due and is subject to cutoff will pay in cash or cashier's check only.
