§ 2-1. Collection of fees to obtain municipal records.

  • There are hereby adopted the following procedures for collecting fees to obtain municipal records:

    (1)

    All individuals and noncity agencies must pay for copies of municipal records.

    (2)

    Municipal records may be certified as true and correct copies by the clerk and treasurer or deputy clerk and treasurer.

    (3)

    Monies received for copies of municipal records will be recorded and proved through established accounting procedures.

    (4)

    The following fees shall be charged for copies of municipal records:

    a.

    Photocopies:

    Per letter or legal size page (each side) ..... $  0.25

    Maps, large drawings, or oversize documents: Ward or zoning map .....  5.00

    Computer printouts per page .....   0.50

    b.

    Other charges:

    Accident reports, police department .....  2.00

    Zoning ordinance ..... 10.00

    Incidental report, police department .....  2.00

    Code of Ordinances ..... 20.00

    Certification fee .....  3.00

    (5)

    For all documents that must be retrieved from an offsite location or that involve a search and review of files, the hourly charge will be the rate of the lowest paid employee with the training and necessary skill to retrieve the records requested.

    (6)

    All information requested requiring detailed information or anything that requires research must be in writing with specific information requested.
